Trip to Serra del Cadí by Pas dels Gosolans (Gosolans path) a historic between Gósol and Cerdanya frequented by laborers and porters. Pablo Picasso did it during his stay in Gósol in the summer of 1906. Duration 6 hours.
The Airport of La Seu d’Urgell, commercially Airport Andorra – la Seu d’Urgell (airport code ICAO: LESU, IATA: LEU), is an airport facility owned by the Government of Catalonia used as aerodrome. For the moment does not offer commercial flights, only general and emergency aviation. Since its reopening have passed through the airport 7,000 flights (August 2013).
The airport is located in the county of Alt Urgell in the Catalan Pyrenees. Five km from La Seu d’Urgell and 15 km from the border with Andorra. It is located on mountain Ensiula, which had to be “taken down” partially.
There are magnificent views of river Segre’s valley from the hill Roc Beneïdor, where you can see Cadí mountain range, other hills and mountains, the Urgellet and la Seu d’Urgell plain and several towns as Castellciutat, Montferrer, Vilanova de Banat, el Pont de Bar and Arsèguel and la Seu d’Urgell airport. There are stunning views of the straits of les Cabanotes and Mollet, a narrow and deep path oopen by the river Segre between the mountains in the Alt Urgell, where there is the natural limit between Urgellet and Baridà.
You can reach the hill, where there are the great views, climbing up from Bescaran to Pla de Sorri and then following the path that leads you up to the top of the hill. You can also arrive to Pla de Sorri from Castellnou de Carcolze.
Galliner hill is located between Lletó and Vilanova de Banat (Alt Urgell, Catalonia) and you can accessed there by a trail that connects both towns. It was organized jointly with Espai Ermengol, Natural Park of Cadí-Moixeró and Aubèrria in a cycle dedicated to protected nature.
The hill is a lookout point to observe migrating birds and the north side of Cadí mountain range. We saw (some aurally) some birds like the golden eagle (aquila chrysaetos), the raven (corvus corax & corvus corone), the woodpecker, the bearded vulture and many more! And mammals such as deer (capreolus capreolus) and fox (vulpes vulpes), as well as traces of deer, fox, wild boar (sus scrofa) and badger (meles meles).
This is my first timelapse, it consists of two parts, one with pictures of the plain of La Seu d’Urgell and the Cadi’s mountain range in the background, they are made from the tower of Solsona, near the Castellciutat’s castle, where there are some nice views of the valley.
The second part takes place in Main Street (Carrer Major), and the quality is not very good, but the result is not too bad considering my inexperienced and the rain. You can see the Procession of the Good Friday evening.

El Querforadat is a village of the Baridà in the municipality of Cava (Alt Urgell). It has 15 inhabitants and is located on a cliff at 1,380 meters, where you can see a beautiful landscape of the Cadi mountain range.
The town’s name came from the cliff, the “quer” a word of pre-Roman origin. There was a legend that says there was a hole that connected the castle to the river and people avoided the sieges showing the harassing fresh fishes.
Engolasters is a village in the andorran parish of Escaldes-Engordany, it has quite grown with some urbanisations from Les Escaldes to the church of Sant Miquel d’Engolasters. A small church in a flat area at 1,504 m where there are spectacular views of Escaldes-Engordany and Andorra la Vella, the towns which dominate the Valira’s valley in the central part of the country.
The church is from the XI-XII centuries, and dedicated to St. Michael. It is tiny and simple as the other typical Romanesque churches of Andorra. The original paintings are in the Museu Nacional d’Art de Catalunya – National Art Museum of Catalonia (MNAC) in Barcelona, but you can find a reproduction in the church. Going up, you will find the Engolasters’ lake.
